Title: Terrible, keep looking

Review: I bought this based on good reviews, but it is terrible. The text is crowded, so it is difficult to read (it makes my head hurt, I can't imagine how difficult it will be for an 8th grade boy to deal with). The maps are confusing, and the instructions are unnecessarily complicated. It is also not a stand alone book; you will need to have an atlas to answer anything. It just seems like this book will take a lot of effort to use, and it is stunningly boring in its presentation, especially for a 15 dollar workbook. Sorry I bought it.
Edit: I upgraded from 2 to 3 stars. Although this book wasn't great, I wasn't able to find anything better. It does have some decent basic information, and we were able to use it.

Title: Turns geography to drudgery

Review: Maps are unlabeled and gray scale requiring students to access other maps to complete assignments. Random drawn black and white pictures are inserted instead of relevant maps. Lessons are laid out so students have to flip back and forth for maps and charts for each question. Geography should be fun, pique a students interest to see and experience the world. I've found I have to pull up a lot of side information to make these lessons remotely come to life.

Title: Problematic

Review: We found this workbook to be full of errors. The maps are terrible, too. There were sometimes 2 and 3 errors per page. I do not recommend the purchase of this item. It covers mainly the Eastern Hemisphere, which I could not tell at the time of purchase. There are good moments of course, but so many errors that working on the book becomes stressful. The best thing about it is that my daughter now knows full well not to automatically believe something just because it is in print and presented as a standard bearer. One more thing, the answer key is the most complicated and difficult key I have ever had the displeasure of working with, including even calling page 45 page 48.

Title: How to Make Geography Boring for Your Child

Review: Content is decent but presentation is awful. I bought this book based on the high ratings and was very disappointed. The facts in the book are fine but they are delivered in such a dry manner that my child is beginning to hate geography. When I first looked at the opening pages it seemed okay, but the first few pages are deceptive as to the overall quality of the book. We are going to stop using it and search for something better.

Review: Was not impressed with this geography book. My kid kept pointing out things that were off about it.. Normally I would just tell her to actually READ the instructions, but no she was right on a few occasions.

Review: Only disappointing because the cover makes it look all colorful and interesting, and every page is dull black and white, just facts and figures. But my son (11) is working through it and learning some interesting stuff, so it definitely has value.

Title: So Boring!

Review: My 11 year old homeschooling son has always been very interested in geography and is advanced in that subject,so I got this thinking he could use it for his 6th grade social studies course. However, just flipping through it bored me to tears. The text is small and crowded, and every page is like that. Returned it.

Title: Barely started and many errors

Review: We are only in to lesson 3 I believe and have found some errors/inconsistencies. The worst being on the match the population to the country and the dots on the map are completely random. There are 20 dots and 20 countries, but the dots are not on all the countries that are actually asked for. So while not a simple hand it off and let them go it will work. I might look for a different one though to save the frustrations of things not making sense.
